1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
4 egg yolks, beaten
4 egg whites
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat three 9 inch cake pans with grease and flour. Beat butter and 1 cup sugar together. Whip in egg yolk. Add dry ingredients while adding milk. Beat egg whites till soft peaks form in a separate bowl. Stir in sugar, and add to batter. Pour into pans. Bake for 25 minutes.
